If clients hire you, rather than a company, a professional profile on BizGrid.lk is built for you. It works for lawyers and notaries, electricians and plumbers, doctors and dentists, accountants, architects and engineers, tutors, designers, photographers and anyone else who sells their own skills. This guide takes you from sign-up to a profile that brings in enquiries and bookings.

Step 1: Create your free profile

Sign in (or create a free account), then choose Add professional profile in your dashboard. You’ll need:

  • your full name and your profession, for example Attorney-at-Law or Licensed Electrician
  • a short bio (at least 30 characters) saying what you do, who you help and where
  • your industry and speciality, district and town, so you appear on the right directory pages
  • a mobile number and an email address

You don’t need a business registration number. If you belong to a professional body, such as the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, SLMC or CIDA, add its name and your registration number: clients look for it. Tick the box to confirm the profile is about you and press Create free profile. Our team checks every profile, usually within one to two business days.

Step 2: Add a clear photo

People choose people. Use a recent, well-lit head-and-shoulders photo on a plain background, looking at the camera. A friendly, professional photo gets noticeably more contacts than a logo or no picture at all.

Step 3: Write a headline and bio that answer the client’s question

Your headline is one line under your name. Make it specific: “Helping families with land, property and inheritance matters since 2008” says far more than “Experienced professional”.

In the bio, cover what you do, the type of client or job you take on, where you work, and how to work with you (appointments, call-outs, online consultations). Mention your experience in years and anything that builds trust. Keep paragraphs short; most people read on their phone. Premium Partner lets you add headings, bold text and bullet lists.

Step 4: List your services and fees

Under Services & qualifications, add what clients can hire you for, one per line: “Deed transfers”, “House rewiring”, “Company tax returns”. A starting fee (“From Rs. 5,000”) helps clients decide to contact you and filters out mismatched enquiries. With Pro Profile you can also list your qualifications, such as degrees, certifications and memberships, shown as a timeline on your profile.

Step 5: Show your work in a portfolio

Photos of finished work are the strongest proof you can offer: a completed wiring panel, a renovated kitchen, a certificate wall, a design you delivered. Give each photo a short caption. Basic Listing includes 3 portfolio photos, Pro Profile 10 plus a YouTube or Vimeo video, and Premium Partner unlimited photos and 3 videos. Don’t upload photos of clients without their permission.

Step 6: Take appointment requests

With Pro Profile or Premium Partner, clients can press Book appointment, choose a service, day and time, and send a request. You get an email and the request appears in Bookings in your dashboard. Press Accept or Decline and the client is emailed straight away. Reply quickly: the first professional to respond usually gets the job.

Step 7: Collect reviews

After a job goes well, ask the client to review you on your BizGrid.lk profile; they’ll need a free account. Reviews appear straight away and help new clients trust you. With Pro Profile you can reply to each review. See how reviews work.
