Reviews help people choose the right business or professional, and help good businesses stand out. This guide explains how reviews work on BizGrid.lk, for customers writing them and for owners receiving them, and the rules we use to keep them useful.

What can be reviewed

  • Businesses: every business listing.
  • Professionals: professional profiles on Basic Listing and above.
  • Products and services: each item in a business’s Shop, reviewed separately from the business.

For customers: writing a review

  1. Sign in. Only registered members can write reviews. Creating an account is free, and you can continue with Google, Facebook or LinkedIn.
  2. Open the profile and go to Reviews, or open a product in the Shop.
  3. Choose a star rating from 1 to 5 and describe what happened: what you bought or hired them for, and how it went. At least 20 characters.
  4. Press Post review. It appears straight away, with your first name and the initial of your last name.

You can leave one review per business, per professional and per product. To change it, open the same page and choose Edit your review.

What makes a helpful review

  • Say what the job or purchase was and when.
  • Be specific: “arrived on time and fixed the leak in 30 minutes” helps more than “good service”.
  • Be fair. If something went wrong, say how the business handled it.

Our rules

We remove reviews that:

  • are fake, paid for, or written by the owner, their staff, family or competitors
  • contain abuse, threats, discrimination or obscene language
  • include personal details such as phone numbers, addresses or ID numbers
  • are spam, advertising or unrelated to the business

Only BizGrid.lk admins can hide or remove reviews. Business owners and professionals can’t delete reviews they don’t like. If you see a review that breaks these rules, sign in and press Report next to it; reported reviews go to the top of our team’s queue.

For owners: getting and answering reviews

You’ll get an email whenever someone reviews your listing or one of your products. All reviews are collected under Reviews in your dashboard.

  • Ask for them. After a job goes well, send the customer your profile link and ask for a short review. Never offer money or discounts for reviews.
  • Reply to them. With a paid package (Starter and above for businesses, Pro Profile and above for professionals), you can post one public reply under each review. Thank people for positive reviews. For critical ones, stay calm, apologise where it’s fair, and explain what you’ve done about it. Future customers read the reply as much as the review.
  • Don’t argue or share private details in replies. Take the conversation to the phone or email.
  • If a review is fake or breaks our rules, contact us with the details and we’ll check it.

Where ratings appear

Your average rating is shown at the top of your profile, on your listing card in search results and on industry and district pages. Product ratings appear on each item in your Shop. We also include ratings in the information we share with search engines, so they may appear in Google results.
